Public Education
Visitors will notice right away that Cedar Cove is not a typical zoo. Each visit is a learning experience. With a personally guided educational tour, Senior Curator William Pottorff and volunteer staff take the opportunity to teach visitors about the special characteristics of each species of exotic cat.

Cedar Cove offers a caring sanctuary for tigers, cougars (mountain lions), bobcats, caracal and leopards. The park’s keepers are qualified professional members of the American Association of Zoo Keepers. Group tours are available for school children, senior citizens, Scouts, naturalists and others who want to learn more

about exotic felines and conservation efforts for big cats. All tours need to be scheduled in advance. Rate will vary for groups under 25. For groups of 25 or more, the park offers a 30% discount, to only $3.50 per person.

Cedar Cove offers videos and library resources in the education building for anyone who wants to learn more about the cats. Students also spend ample time outdoors utilizing the park’s animals as live instruction aids. If you or your group is interested in gaining an in-depth knowledge of big cats, call Cedar Cove for further information.
